Hudson's Select Market Business Underwriting Team is designed to handle healthcare risks that pose unique underwriting challenges. Accounts located in particularly litigious areas are handled exclusively by our Select Market Business team, as well as accounts in select specialties such as Emergency Medicine, Radiology and Obstetrics. Aside from jurisdiction or specialty, accounts may be referred to our Select Market Business team for underwriting consideration when they are considered to possess risk characteristics that fall outside the underwriting guidelines of our other teams.

Our intent is to underwrite these high-risk accounts with a long-term focus. As such, the coverage offered to accounts may be narrower than the coverage provided by our other teams. In time, it is possible for accounts underwritten by our Select Market Business team to be transitioned to a standard team when circumstances warrant it. Eligible risks for the Select Market Business team include physician groups of six or more practitioners, hospitals, and other healthcare-related entities.
